A woman has died while bungee jumping after jumping off a bridge with no lanyard attached as she followed a signal intended for her boyfriend.
Yecenia Morales, 25, fell 150 feet from the viaduct in Amaga, northern Colombia, on Sunday.

The boyfriend led the line as they approached the platform and the pair were the 90th jumper of the day.
When the staff signaled the boyfriend to jump, Morales misunderstood, despite not having a bungee cord on her ankles.
She jumped into the valley and dropped dead as her friend ran down to help her.
He was the first to find her on the ground and tried desperately to resuscitate, but to no avail.

Amaga firefighters were present and pronounced her dead at the scene.
Gustavo Guzmán, the mayor of Fredonia Municipality, said: El Tiempo: ‘She got confused. The signal was for the friend to jump because he was already attached to the security equipment.
“They had only put the armor on her, so she got confused and rushed.”
The boyfriend is still being treated as a result of the injuries he sustained when he ran downstairs to find her and is said to be in a state of shock.
She jumped down into the valley and fell to her death when her friend rushed down to help her.
According to local media, hospital doctors said Morales suffered a heart attack before reaching the ground.
Her brother Andres said that Yecenia was a happy woman who loved reading and dancing and had an entrepreneurial spirit.
He said, “My sister is a girl of the best values, happy, spontaneous, with virtues that made her love her friends and help those in need.”
Local authorities have also opened an investigation after allegations that two companies providing services and supplying equipment to the site were not authorized to do so.
