A DeKalb County woman was killed when the vehicle she was driving left the road and rolled over in unincorporated Plato Township on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Kane County sheriff’s office, Kimberly Roddan, 56, of Sycamore, was driving eastbound in the 40W200 block of Plank Road around 4:30 p.m. when her 2012 Buick Verona crossed the center line into westbound traffic and left the roadway.
According to the sheriff’s office, the Buick rolled several times before coming to rest on the north side of Plank Road.
Pinegree Grove paramedics transported Roddan, the sole occupant of the vehicle, to Sherman Hospital with life-threatening injuries. According to the sheriff’s office, she was later pronounced dead.
The Kane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident to determine what caused Roddan’s vehicle to leave the road. According to the sheriff’s office, it is unknown whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
