A woman was discovered dead, and an elderly woman was hit in the face inside a South Shore home.
A 67-year-old woman was discovered unresponsive in a home in the 7300 block of South Luella Avenue at 8:30 a.m., according to police. Inside, a 96-year-old woman was also found injured.
The first victim was pronounced dead at the scene, showing signs of blunt force trauma. According to police, her death was ruled a homicide.
The elderly woman was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center for an examination. There were no other injuries reported.
According to police, the incident appears to be domestic in nature. Area One detectives are looking into it.
