The Mineral County Sheriff’s Office says a traffic stop Saturday night resulted in the arrest of a woman transporting 298 pounds of marijuana.
They say the suspect, Tatiana Ruiz of Houston, Texas, was pulled over 10 miles south of Hawthorne in a White Chrysler Pacifica with Arizona plate number CWT5245.
Deputies say they became suspicious of the driver during the traffic stop and requested a K9 unit.
The dog alerted deputies and they found 298 pounds of marijuana hidden inside six large black duffel bags (pictured above). According to the DEA website, the approximate street value is $1.2 million dollars.
