An Arizona lady who confessed to kill in the starvation demise of her 6-year-old child was condemned to life in jail without the chance of parole on Thursday after witnesses portrayed the abhorrences of the small storage room that stunk of pee where he and his young sibling were kept and denied food.
Elizabeth Archibeque’s attorney had requested that her sentence incorporate the chance from parole following 35 years somewhat on the grounds that she had consented to confess to first-degree murder and kid maltreatment in the 2020 passing of Deshaun Martinez.
However, Coconino Prevalent Court Judge Ted Reed expressed that while her appearance of regret was authentic, her “egregious, horrible and debased conduct” justified detainment for “the remainder of your normal life.”
One police detective testified Thursday that she had never seen anything as horrific in her entire life.
Archibeque, 29, who briefly took the witness stand to testify on her own behalf on Thursday, said she blamed herself for her son’s death and fully accepted whatever sentence she received.
