Tennessee Woman Killed And Man Injured After More Than 20 Shots Fired At Vehicle
A 21-year-old Tennessee woman is dead and a man is injured after their vehicle was shot at multiple times late Monday in Madison, according to reports.
The shooting happened just before 11 p.m. on Gallatin Pike near Nesbitt Lane on Monday, Oct. 2.
Metro police reported 21-year-old Shalena McCall was in the front passenger seat of a Nissan Altima when the car took on gunfire from another sedan. Officers at the scene said the Nissan was shot at nearly two dozen times.
The 22-year-old driver reportedly drove to the Madison precinct located on Myatt Drive after the shooting.
Officers said they heard a man shouting for help outside the precinct and that’s when they discovered the shooting victims.
McCall was pronounced dead upon arrival at the precinct. Authorities reported she was shot multiple times.
Meanwhile, the 22-year-old driver sustained at least two gunshot wounds, according to officers at the scene. He was taken to TriStar Skyline Medical Center to be treated for his injuries.
Investigators closed a portion of Gallatin Pike as they worked to determine what led to deadly shooting. The roadway has since reopened.
Metro police said a detailed interview with the driver has not taken place due to his condition. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
