A Kentucky woman is facing felony charges in Indiana after some DoorDash customers said they got sick when she sprayed what they believed was pepper spray on their food.
Detectives with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office charged Kourtney N. Stevenson with two counts of Battery Resulting in Moderate Injury and two counts of Consumer Product Tampering.
They say she told them she had used the pepper spray on a spider after she had delivered the food. But detectives say that at the time of the delivery, the overnight low was 35°F, and at that temperature, outdoor spiders in Indiana are not active and would not be capable of crawling on exposed surfaces.
