A Hendersonville woman is charged with second degree murder after deputies say she fatally stabbed her 5-year-old daughter.
Henderson County deputies said they responded to Fiesta Lane around 8:45 a.m. Sunday for a report of a stabbing.
When officers and emergency crews arrived at the residence, deputies determined the 5-year-old victim had died from her injuries.
Deputies said their investigation revealed the suspect of the stabbing was the mother of the child, Penny Short Hartle, 50, of Hendersonville.
Hartle is being held without bond, and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
