WHO Pandemic Warning: PPE Waste Fast Becoming ‘New Danger’
The huge amount of medical waste trashed since the outbreak of Covid-19 has become a health and environmental hazard. (World Health Organization)
“We find that people are wearing excessive PPE,” the public should, “become more of a conscious consumer,” a WHO technical officer said.
Recent data shows 87,000 tons of medical waste was created between March 2020 and November 2021 due to the Covid response.
