WH warns Europe Russia could “INVADE” Ukraine – Kremlin rubbishes claim
American intelligence sources have reportedly briefed European allies on a possible planned Russian invasion of Ukrainian territory, according to the Daily Telegraph. Kremlin spox Dmitry Peskov labelled the claim a “groundless escalation.”
On Wednesday US Sec of State Anthony Blinken said “any escalatory or aggressive actions would be of great concern to the United States. We continue to support de-escalation in the region.”
Russian FM Sergey Lavrov responded on Thursday to the tensions by hoping European leaders would “not allow themselves to be drawn into a spiral that is fairly dangerous”.
