Wesley Weaver, II pleaded guilty today in Craig County to sexual abuse of a child under 12 and he got a 25 year suspended sentence.

The girl was okay with the sentence since it prevented her from being re-victimized by testifying during the trial (set to start Monday).

He will also have to register as a sex offender for life.
He’s not allowed to be around children, can’t use the internet, must take lie detector tests and have drug testing.
-If he breaks the law during the 25 years, he could be sent to prison.

The girl is someone he knew and she told investigators she was raped several times a month, for 3-4 years.
The DA read the girl’s victim impact statement in court to the judge and it says in part:

“All I have to say is that you destroyed my childhood and what you did to me wasn’t ok at all… I spoke up, most people don’t. But, I did.

You may think you’ve destroyed my life you you didn’t, I took control.”
