Violence Erupts Overnight: Teen Shot in West Side Robbery

A teen boy is recovering in the hospital on Saturday morning after he was shot during a robbery on the West Side overnight.
According to police, the victim, a 17-year-old boy, was walking in the area when five unknown individuals approached him and demanded his things.
Officers said the teen complied with the demands of the group, but amid the robbery, one of the thieves pulled out a gun and opened fire in his direction.
The teen boy suffered a gunshot wound to his left thigh and was later hospitalized in good condition.
Officers say no arrests have been made and an investigation is now underway.
Chicago police said the incident unfolded just before 3 a.m. in the 5800 block of West Corcoran Place, in Austin.
