Vasectomy Rush: Texan men protest abortion law
A Texas clinic has reported a 15% surge in vasectomies since the state passed a law banning abortions after a fetal heartbeat is detected – usually around 6 weeks. (WaPo)
Dr. Koushik Shaw told the outlet it was the first time he’d heard legislation as a factor cited by patients for deciding to undergo the procedure, which leaves a 99.9% pregnancy prevention rate.
The trend has been described as “an act of love” and the “ultimate way to be a good man,” by Florida urologist Doug Stein.
