US Rubbishes Claim its Warship Warned Away in South China Sea
Chinese forces have reportedly ushered out an American warship from disputed waters near the Paracel Islands – claims the US Navy has denied.
A People’s Liberation Army claimed the USS Benfold’s passage was “another piece of ironclad evidence of [the US] pursuit of navigational hegemony and militarization of the South China Sea.”
The Seventh Fleet of the Navy said it was ”innocently” demonstrating that China’s claims to the waters were inconsistent with international law – as the US ups operational exercises in the region.
