US Passes Anti-China Competition Bill: Deliberately Flaming Tensions as Olympics Kick Off
Congress has narrowly passed a multibillion-dollar bill aimed at increasing US competitiveness against China and boosting semiconductor manufacturing.
The House voted the “America COMPETES Act of 2022” by 222-210, almost entirely along Democratic party lines.
The vote took place, rather symbolically, on the same day as the opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics.
