RE: FAYETTEVILLE POLICE IN CONJUNCTION WITH US MARSHALS ARREST TWO INDIVIDUALS IN CONNECTION WITH A HOMICIDE
Fayetteville Police Chief Mike Reynolds announced today the arrest of two individuals in connection with a homicide reported on September 10, 2021, at West Pleasant Woods Drive in Fayetteville.
On Friday, September 10, 2021, at approximately 10:30 P.M., Fayetteville police officers responded to 1862 West Pleasant Woods Drive in reference to a shooting.
Once on scene, officers located an unresponsive 16-year-old male inside the residence with an apparent gunshot wound. Officers immediately began life saving efforts, but they were unable to save the victim. Upon initial investigation, detectives determined the incident was a homicide.
After several weeks of investigating this crime, Detectives requested arrest warrants through the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office for Christopher Johnson Jr, age 19, of Marianna, for MURDER IN THE SECOND DEGREE and TAMPERING WITH PHYSICAL EVIDENCE, and Paul Whitaker, age 18, of Marianna, for HINDERING APPREHENSION OR PROSECUTION and ACCOMPLICE TO TAMPERING WITH PHYSICAL EVIDENCE.
On Monday, October, 18, 2021, detectives from the Fayetteville Police Department, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Western Arkansas Fugitive Task Force (WATF), along with the USMS Eastern Arkansas Fugitive Task Force (EATF), and the
Marianna Police Department located and arrested Christopher Johnson Jr and Paul Whitaker in Marianna, AR, for the above charges.
