Around 8:51 p.m., UGA issued an emergency alert notifying students and staff of a reported armed shooter near the Main Library on South Jackson Street.
First responder arrival: First responders arrived quickly and instructed everyone to avoid the area.
Just after 9:30 p.m., UGA police said “evidence suggests a hoax.”
