UK vaccine passports REMAIN “first line of defence” against Covid winter wave – Downing Street insists (Report)
Contrary to the British health sec. who said vaccine passport plans had been SCRAPPED – reports emerging from No. 10 on Monday reveal that the vaccine status of nightclub and large event attendees REMAIN a CRUCIAL part of the govt’s winter Covid plan – due to be unveiled by the PM on Tuesday. Downing St will insist vax passports are integral should hospital admissions continue to rise in winter – however, they will no longer be automatically introduced at the end of this month, after pressure from Tory MPs and the hospitality sector.
PM Johnson is also expected to warn that mandatory face masks could be reintroduced and work from home guidance reinstated when he outlines the UK govt’s options to deal with a potential third wave of the virus.
And now it seems checks on vaccine status potentially could still be a legal condition to attend certain events.
