UK petrol shoots up to eight-year record high amidst claims stations are exploiting the panic.
The fuel crisis gripping Britain has seen average prices hit ₤1.36/liter as price watchdogs claim some petrol stations are taking advantage of the blind panic by charging way over what they need.
FairFuelUK watchdog group warn that several garages have contacted them saying longer-term rationing is expected, with up to 10p/liter rises expected in the coming days.
“Greedy wholesalers are pushing up bulk supply prices, not based on oil costs, but because of this latest panic demand. Opportunism at its lowest,” said founder Howard Cox told the Daily Mail.
