UK Inflation Hits 30-Year High

Soaring energy costs, fuel bills and food prices have driven the biggest squeeze in decades, as British consumer prices rose by 6.2% from February last year.

Data from the Office for National Statistics shows inflation flying up – the fastest since 1992 – as the burden falls on UK households

Only the US has a higher annual inflation rate among G7 nations, with basic commodity prices surging on the back of conflict in Ukraine.

Energy bills have increased almost 25%, with food costs up across the board.
