2-YEAR-OLD FENTANYL OVERDOSE — Two suspects arrested at the Studio Star Motel
On 2/22/2025 around 11:15 p.m., Officers responded to the Studio Star Motel near 4700 S. Braden for a report of a child overdosing on Fentanyl.
Officers, along with firefighters with the Tulsa Fire Department and paramedics from EMSA, responded to the motel room and found a 2-year-old male unresponsive and struggling to breathe.
Firefighters and paramedics administered Narcan to the 2-year-old, which immediately helped him regain consciousness and start to breathe again. The child was taken to the hospital.
The child’s mother, Jailynn Cormier, and her roommate, Kadin Hester, initially denied having any drugs in the motel room. Cormier and Hester eventually admitted to having Fentanyl.
Officers found small piles of Fentanyl on the floor around the room, including right next to where the 2-year-old had been lying. Officers also recovered drug paraphernalia and a large sum of cash.
Jailynn Cormier and Kadin Hester were both arrested for:
- Trafficking Fentanyl
- Drug Possession
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Drug Possession with Intent in the Presence of a Minor
Jailynn Cormier also has outstanding warrants out of Benton County, Arkansas.
The Tulsa Police Child Crisis Unit will complete a full investigation, and Cormier and Hester could face additional child neglect charges.
The 2-year-old child is expected to make a full recovery and will be placed in DHS custody.
This is an arrest, not a conviction.
