Two people were arrested and several weapons were seized following a traffic stop in the Chatham neighborhood that injured two police officers Tuesday morning.
Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 8100 block of South Champlain Avenue around 1 a.m.
An investigation revealed that one of the car’s passengers was armed. As officers took the passenger into custody, he began to struggle.
The second male passenger, who attempted to flee the vehicle, was also apprehended.
According to CPD, the officers suffered minor injuries during the arrest and were taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution.
According to police, several weapons were recovered. As Area Two detectives continue their investigation, charges are pending.
