Federal prosecutors say two men have now pleaded guilty in federal court to two separate sexual assault cases.
In the first case, Yakir Zofi, a New York resident and Israeli national, pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual abuse.
They say Zofi raped a woman he knew, inside a Bartlesville home on November 21st, 2021.
During the attack, the victim tried to reach a friend by phone, leaving a voicemail asking for help and recording 4 minutes of the attack.
The friend heard it and called police and they learned Zofi was on his way to the Tulsa International Airport and he was arrested by airport police.
In the police interview, Zofi admitted to continuing the sexual act, despite her crying, repeatedly, asking him to stop and physically trying to stop him.
Zofi told police he didn’t stop because they were role playing and he was drunk.
He is non-Indian and the victim is a tribal citizen, which is why it was handled in federal court.
He’ll be sentenced at a later date.
In the second case, Shawn Simpson pleaded guilty to sexual abuse of an incapable victim.
Police say he broke into a woman’s Tulsa apartment and sexually assaulted her while she was sleeping on July 18, 2021, which woke her.
This is a previous booking photo of Simpson.
He is non-Indian, and the victim is a tribal citizen.
He will also be sentenced at a later date.
