RawNews1st – Two Oak Hill men are facing charges after a high speed pursuit in Fayette County. Sheriff Mike Fridley provides the following information regarding this incident.

In the evening hours of August 25, 2022, deputies were patrolling in the Hilltop area when they attempted to stop a vehicle for a minor traffic violation. That vehicle then fled from deputies exceeding speeds of 100 mph on Legends Highway (WV Rt 16).

The vehicle eventually lost control and crashed into an abandoned house on Greentown Loop Rd. The driver and the passenger were taken into custody.

The driver, Philip E. Gray, 39 of Scarbro, is charged with the felony offense of Fleeing with Reckless Disregard Causing Injury as well as the misdemeanor offenses of; two counts of Simple Possession, and Driving without a License.

It was determined that the passenger, Anthony Goard, 27 of Oak Hill, had active warrants for Failure to Appear and was taken into custody for those charges. Both men were transported to Southern Regional Jail to await court proceedings.
