Two Los Angeles Police officers were injured in shootout last night.
At around 9 pm, Southeast Division officers were patrolling in the area of Broadway and Rosecrans Avenue when they initiated a traffic stop on a white Chevy sedan near the intersection of Broadway and Rosecrans Avenue.
As the suspect’s vehicle came to a stop, the suspect immediately shot at the officers. Officers returned fire, and it’s unknown if the suspect was struck.
Both officers sustained injuries, described as glass shards and a graze wound to the head.
After shooting at the officers, the suspect sped away.
Officers followed the vehicle to the area of Broadway and 135th Street, where they lost sight of the suspect’s vehicle.
Fire Department paramedics transported the officers to a nearby hospital for examination and treatment and both are in stable condition.
