RawNews1st – Officers responded to a shots fired call at approximately 12300 E. 16th. This wasn’t an isolated incident, as this address had been hit by gunfire multiple times in recent months.
Thankfully, no one was injured this time, but the suspects fired at the house with no regard to human life. We found shell casings at the scene, damaged vehicles, and a stray bullet into a nearby house.
Numerous Officers responded to the area in an effort to locate the suspects. Witnesses provided crucial details about the suspects’ getaway vehicle. Thanks to their quick thinking and teamwork, we were able to track it down near 500 N. 78th.
With the help of our K-9 unit and the police helicopter, we identified two suspects and apprehended the driver, a 14 year-old-male.
The other suspect, a 16 year-old-make, was in the home where we located the getaway vehicle.
Thanks to the cooperation of his family, we were able to locate him inside the house and find a loaded AK-47 hidden in the bathroom, along with ammunition similar to what was recovered at the crime scene.
Since they were both juveniles, the suspects were arrested and brought down to the Tulsa Community Intervention Center on charges of Shooting with Intent to Kill.
This case involved incredible collaboration between different units and shifts, and ultimately led to the removal of a dangerous weapon and the arrest of two shooters.
Big thanks to the community in helping us solve these cases, and to our Officers commitment to keeping our community safe.
