TWO ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES AFTER WOMAN FOUND DEAD IN EDEN MOTEL:
Two people were arrested Friday after a woman was found dead in an Eden motel.
According to Lt. Anthony Lovings of the Eden Police Department, on Friday June 17, 2022 at approximately 12:57 P.M.
Officers responded to a call of an unresponsive person at the Hampton Inn, located at 724 S. Van Buren Road.
Eden officers, along with Rockingham County EMS, arrived and found 25-year-old Raquita Leshay Morton dead.
As a result of the investigation and consultation with the Rockingham County District Attorney’s Office, warrants were obtained against Angel Nicole Howell for Felony Death by Distribution.
Investigators then conducted a search warrant at 216 N. Oakland Avenue where Angel Nicole Howell was taken into custody.
At the conclusion of the search warrant additional charges were brought against Howell for Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance (Fentanyl), Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance (Cocaine), Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Adderall) and Maintaining a Dwelling that Used for the Selling of Controlled Substance.
Angel Nicole Howell was taken before a magistrate and issued a $250,000 secured bond. Howell is scheduled to appear in Rockingham County District Court on July 5th, 2022.
At the time of the search warrant, Michael Junior Moore was located in the residence.
Moore was charged with felony Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance. Michael Moore was taken before a magistrate and issued a $20,000 secured bond.
