Two 13-year-old boys were charged in connection with an armed carjacking in the Chatham neighborhood on Wednesday.
According to police, the boys are accused of robbing and carjacking a 60-year-old man in the 8500 block of South Calumet Avenue.
They were apprehended roughly three blocks away from the scene of the carjacking by members of the CPD’s Vehicular Hijacking Taskforce.
Each of the boys was charged with aggravated vehicular hijacking with a weapon and robbery of an elderly victim.
There was no additional information available at the time.
