Twelve EU countries ask Brussels to finance border installations (Report)
Ministers of Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland and Slovakia are requesting the European Union fund ‘front-line’ defenses to halt illegal migrant crossings – saying it serves the interests of the whole bloc. In a joint-letter to the Commission vice-president, the member nations stressed that “surveillance does not prevent attempts to cross illegally.”
