Donald Trump was en route to his rally in Bozeman, Montana when his plane was forced to divert to Billings, 142 miles to the east, after experiencing a mechanical issue.
Trump was heading to Bozeman for a Friday night rally in support of Republican Senate candidate Tim Sheehy, who is challenging Democratic Sen. Jon Tester.
The 78-year-old posted a video on his Truth Social account after landing. Trump didn’t mention the diversion as he sat aboard a private jet.
“I just landed in a really beautiful place Montana, so beautiful flying over and you just look down and that’s the way it’s supposed to be,” he said.
“We have a very high rating in Montana, we have a lot of popularity. I like them, they like me, but I’m here to do some fundraisers and most importantly to support Tim Sheehy who’s running for the US Senate and we think he’s gonna do really well. We’re gonna have a rally and it’ll be a lot of fun,” he added.
