Truck Engulfed in Massive Fire on Cincinnati’s Daniel Carter Beard Bridge

A violent explosion and raging fire consumed a semi-truck on the I-471 Daniel Carter Beard Bridge south of Cincinnati around 3 a.m. ET this morning (March 14, 2026).

Video shows towering flames swallowing the vehicle in the southbound lanes, lighting up the night sky and sending thick black smoke billowing over the Ohio River.

Southbound traffic is completely shut down with major delays. Drivers are being rerouted via I-71/75.

Early unconfirmed reports on X claim the carrier may be linked to a foreign entity, sparking immediate speculation about the cause. No official word yet on injuries, fatalities, or what triggered the blast.

This is the second major incident on the bridge in under two years—last November a homeless encampment fire underneath damaged steel beams and forced months-long lane closures.

Investigators are on scene. Updates expected soon.
