DALLAS — Police in Dallas have identified a woman accused of fatally stabbing a 7-year-old girl and wounding a teen Thursday, authorities said.
Troyshaye Mone Hall, 23, of Dallas, was charged with capital murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to Dallas County online booking records. Hall was booked into jail at around 11 p.m. CDT Thursday, The Dallas Morning News reported Friday
Her bail was set at $1.5 million, online records show.
According to an arrest affidavit, the girl was identified as Madison Perry reported, The child was stabbed more than 30 times, according to the affidavit.
Police initially said the girl was 6, the Morning Star reported. According to police, the 16-year-old boy is a family friend, reported. He survived his injuries, the television station reported.
It remains unclear what caused the attack.
Court records show that Hall is serving eight years of deferred-adjudication probation after pleading guilty in 2017 to charges of aggravated assault and burglary of a habitation, the Morning Star reported.
According to an arrest affidavit Thursday night, Hall stabbed her brother’s 16-year-old friend in the bathroom in the shoulder and his lower back, reported.
The affidavit said Hall’s mother and brother “struggled with her in an attempt to take the knife away.” In the process, Hall’s mother suffered cuts to her hand, reported.
According to the Dallas Police Department, a person who lived inside the home went to get a neighbor, who was an off-duty law enforcement officer, to help detain the woman and get help for the girl, reported.
