Tony L. Henson, 34, was arrested on Sunday, April 10 in Scott County for criminal trespass to land.
He leading deputies with Greene County Sheriff’s Office on a manhunt, according to media outlets.
While authorities tried to escort him into the jail, a handcuffed Henson reportedly ran away from a Scott County deputy.
Law enforcement agencies from the Scott County Sheriff’s Department, the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, the Carrollton, Roodhouse, and White Hall Police Departments, as well as the Illinois State Police, began searching in the area near where Henson had been last seen. At one point, police K9 and support of an Illinois State Police aircraft that’s equipped with heat-sensing equipment helped in the search.
Police said Henson was found around 6:33 the next morning hiding underneath a porch at a home on Maple Street in Carrollton.
He has now been charged with misdemeanor escape.
