This morning at approximately 7:47 a.m., deputies from the East Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a gray SUV pulling a trailer carrying a four-wheeler.
Rather than stopping the driver of the vehicle fled. After a short chase the suspect vehicle crashed into a ditch.
The driver and passenger fled on foot. A manhunt was initiated but the suspects escaped.
After investigation deputies determined that all three vehicles, the SUV, the trailer, and the four-wheeler were stolen.
Through investigative efforts, deputies were able to identify the driver of the stolen vehicle as Montero Matthews, 19 and the passenger as Erick Whitfield, 19, both from Ethel, Louisiana.
Both subjects are wanted and arrest warrants have been secured for the pair charging them as follows:
