Three more energy companies go BUST in the UK – leaving 230,000 in need of a new supplier
Enstroga, Igloo Energy and Symbio Energy have all filed for bankruptcy amid surging gas prices, the UK’s energy watchdog has announced.
Hundreds of thousands are said to be affected by the news, with Ofgem’s retail director saying the watchdog’s “number one priority is to protect customers,” amid an unprecedented collapse of the industry.
Nine energy firms have closed in the UK from January 30 to September 22, leaving 1.5 million customers orphaned and scrambling to find new energy suppliers before winter inevitably comes.
