REDWOOD CITY – Three suspects were arrested and a fourth was still being sought in connection with a violent home-invasion robbery in Redwood City earlier this year, police said.
The incident was reported at about 10:30 p.m. April 22 at a residence on the 1700 block of Oak Avenue. When one of the two victims, a male, answered a knock at the front door, the suspects pushed their way inside, shot him with a stun gun and restrained him with zip ties, the Redwood City Police Department said in a news release.
Police said the suspects hit the second victim, a female, with a handgun, causing a “massive laceration to her forehead.”
The residence was ransacked, and the suspects left with a large safe, a purse and watches, police said.
The male victim was treated at the scene and the female victim was taken to a hospital.
Detectives used evidence collected at the scene to identify four suspects, police said. They then conducted surveillance of the suspects’ homes and obtained search and arrest warrants.
On Wednesday, detectives served the warrants and took three of the four suspects into custody without incident. The suspects – 32, 30 and 19 years old – were arrested and booked into San Mateo County jail on charges of armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, assault with serious bodily injury and exhibiting a firearm.
“The fourth suspect has not been apprehended and is currently outstanding,” police said.
Detectives also seized an AR-15 rifle, a bolt-action rifle, a 9mm semi-automatic pistol, a .45-caliber semi-automatic pistol, gun parts, ammunition and other evidence, including body armor and U.S. currency, linking the suspects to the home-invasion robbery, police said.
