A 77 year old Tulsa man was arrested for animal cruelty, after investigators say he admitted drowning 7 feral cats because they were killing doves in his yard.
The affidavit for Thomas Snodgrass says he’s been feeding doves in his yard for more than 20 years and he enjoys watching them and it makes him feel good to provide food for the wild birds.
It says on December 14th, 2021, he called and requested Animal Control to come remove 7 dead cats from his property.
It says he was very cooperative and told the investigator that more and more feral cats had shown up and were killing more and more of the doves.
Snodgrass said he called Animal Control, the Tulsa Health Department, OK Wildlife Department, Street Cats and the Tulsa SPCA but no one would come pick up the wild cats.
-It says he decided to trap the cats in a live trap then drop the trap into a bucket of water.
It says when the investigator went to the home, there were 4-5 trash bags on the curb with the dead cats inside and a vet confirmed it appeared they died from drowning.
Snodgrass was charged with cruelty to animals.
I can find no previous convictions in OK for Snodgrass.
