The Pueblo Police Department is investigating a fatal stabbing near McDonalds at the intersection of Hunter Drive and Bonforte Blvd that took place Thursday afternoon.
A female victim, now identified as 74-year-old Norma Mada, and the aunt of her alleged killer, was rushed to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
Officers arrested 41-year-old Brian Rodriguez at the scene and have charged him with first degree murder, they announced on Friday.
The suspect’s mother Virginia Rodriguez confirmed that the victim was her sister, according to KRDO reporters who obtained a legal affadavit on Friday.
This is the 16th homicide investigation in Pueblo this year.
