The gruesome poster gives us a closer look at everyone’s favorite bear Pooh and the normally adorable Piglet. Pooh looms at the top, wielding a blood-drenched mallet.
Imposed below him is his very best friend, Piglet, holding a knife and standing over a body. What a warm welcome to the new Hundred Acre Wood.
The upcoming horror movie Winnie the Pooh: Blood And Honey went viral earlier this year with its announcement of turning the popular children’s books into a slasher flick.
The film has yet to get a trailer, but details were teased in May by director Rhys Frake-Waterfield. Pooh and Piglet feature as the main villains who have gone on a rampage after Christopher Robin abandons them to go to college. Oh, and Pooh and Piglet even eat Eeyore, apparently.
We got a look at the fear-inducing retelling of the childhood tale earlier this year. In it, Pooh and Piglet can be seen sneaking up on someone in a hot tub. We also get a glimpse at Pooh behind the wheel of a car.
The poster and film embrace absurdity and the movie will straddle the line of horror and comedy, according to Frake-Waterfield.
Earlier this year, the 1926 version of Winnie the Pooh by A.A. Milne went into the public domain, making this film possible.
