At 2:02 a.m., sheriff’s say deputies responded to the Budget Inn in the 1600 block of Gordon Highway in Augusta, Georgia. Upon arrival, deputies found an infant boy unresponsive.
He was transported to Wellstar / MCG by EMS. The child was pronounced dead at 2:37 a.m.
The victim was identified as 3-month-old Josiah Noel Seright.
The infant’s mother, 19-year-old September De’Asia Seright along with 42-year-old Lamisha Diane Seright and 39-year-old Bennie Antonio Nash were transported to the Charles B. Webster Detention Center and charged with Murder 2nd Degree and Cruelty to Children 2nd Degree.
The three suspects left Josiah in a wet car seat, wrapped in a wet blanket next to an air conditioning unit inside the motel room. The unit was set to 61 degrees.
Authorities say the baby died from hypothermia and respiratory failure.
An autopsy will be scheduled.
