The suspect then shot one employee and stole a vehicle from the parking lot
Around 12:40 a.m., police were called to the Taco Bell, located at 2553 Judson Rd. in Longview, Texas on reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers were told all the employees were outside while the power was out around the area.
When the employees walked out, they said a person walked up and attempted to rob them.
The suspect then shot one employee and stole a vehicle from the parking lot. The stolen vehicle was found nearby and the victim died at the scene.
The victim was identified as Rayleene Smithson.
On June 27, police arrested 31-year-old Brent Leslie DeLuca for capital murder.
