The second West Virginia National Guard member critically wounded in a cowardly ambush by an Afhgan refugee Wednesday has been identified as a newly sworn-in soldier.

The brave guardsman was identified as 20-year-old Sarah Beckstrom, US Attorney Jeanine Pirro said at a Thursday press conference.

National Guard Soldier Sarah Beckstrom has been identified as the second victim in the targeted ambush shooting on November 26, 2025 in DC.

Sarah Beckstrom is a 20-year-old resident of Webster Springs, West Virginia, located in rural Webster County approximately 150 miles east of Charleston.

Beckstrom was struck in the chest and head, while Wolfe the other Victim, was wounded in the torso; both underwent emergency surgery at MedStar Washington Hospital Center and remain in critical but stable condition as of late November 27.

U.S. Attorney for D.C. Jeanine Pirro publicly named the victims during a press conference, emphasizing their service: “They were in D.C. to keep D.C. safe.”
