The military arrested more than 20 young members from Urban Guerrilla force after Bo Aung Myay, a leader of Mandalay UG, was detained and killed by military personnel on August 1, according to sources close to the Urban Guerrilla Alliances.
“The group of people connected with Bo Aung Myay were pursued. Ko Shine, a member of the Mother Son Mandalay Force in Mandalay, was arrested in Pyin Oo Lwin, ” a source told BAP.
Four women were among the 21 people that were arrested overall, according to sources close to the UGs, although it is difficult to determine the exact number of people who have been killed.
“There were even UGs from Yangon among the victims. I’m not sure how many people were killed in all, “said the source.
One of the UGs in Mandalay, the Myanmar Revolution Rangers Force (MRRF), claimed that three of its members, including the leader Bo Aung Myay, had been detained on August 1, slain, and their bodies dumped alongside the road the following day, on August 2.
