The biggest wild hog ever discovered was killed in Alapaha, Georgia.

Weighing in at anywhere from 800-1,000 pounds* and measuring anywhere from 7.5-12 feet in length*, the creature was nicknamed “Hogzilla.”

A team of National Geographic experts has confirmed south Georgia’s monster hog, known to locals as Hogzilla, was indeed real — and really, really big.

Note: The wild boar is an omnivore, feeding on just about anything edible. Its main diet consists of roots, fallen fruits, nuts and acorns. The boar also feeds on small animals (larvae, snakes, birds, rodents, etc.) and carrion.
