Mariann Wang spoke to WRGB’s Anne McCloy Tuesday over Zoom.
“We watched in different locations and we were texting and talking. Ultimately, I think they are incredibly grateful, I think there were tears shed, I think there was a sense of relief that they were believed and respected, that this should never have happened to them,” Wang said.
Both McGrath’s and Limmiatis’ accounts of inappropriate behavior from Governor Cuomo were detailed in the AG’s report.
“He would look down her blouse, he made remarks about her being single, which she did not volunteer, which he probed. With my other client he touched her across her shirt and this was all behavior that made my clients feel deeply ashamed, deeply embarrassed,” Wang said.
This is the first time we’ve heard Limmiatis’ story which describes an interaction with Cuomo in 2017 at an energy conservation event.
The attorney for accuser Charlotte Bennett, who served as one of Cuomo’s executive assistants in 2020, sent this statement today saying in part:
“Sadly, Charlotte was not the only extraordinary woman whose career in the Executive Department was cut short and derailed as a result of the governor’s illegal behavior.
The governor must resign immediately, along with his senior staff who protected and enabled him.
“If he does not, the New York State Assembly must accept the attorney general’s findings and begin taking the appropriate steps to remove him from office.”
