Police said the 17-year-old male was arrested on Wednesday and has been accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend, 18, at approximately 11:10 a.m. inside his Nesconset home, then shooting himself in the face.
The boy’s parents called 911. Emergency personnel responded to the scene, where the 18-year-old girl was pronounced dead, officials said.
The 17-year-old male was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was reported to be in critical but stable condition, according to police.
Officials said he will be charged with second-degree murder and arraigned at a later date.
