Terrell Epel Youngblood, 21, arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old boy, also of Detroit

Michigan – Following an investigation by the Detroit Police Department (DPD), the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office has charged Terrell Epel Youngblood, 21, of Detroit, in connection with the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old boy, also of Detroit.

On August 23, 2025, at approximately 8:14 p.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 14800 block of Monte Vista for a reported shooting. Upon their arrival, officers canvassed the area and discovered the victim near the Adam Butzel Recreational Center in the 10000 block of Lyndon Street, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Medics arrived on the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

It is alleged that Youngblood produced and fired a handgun multiple times, fatally wounding the victim, before fleeing the scene. An investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to the arrest of the defendant on October 31, 2025.

Youngblood has been charged with Second-Degree Murder, Felony Firearm, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.

All suspects are presumed innocent pending further proceedings.
