A teenage boy is facing charges in connection with an armed carjacking that occurred in the Hyde Park neighborhood on Sunday afternoon.
The 14-year-old was identified as the suspect who stole a vehicle at gunpoint from a 58-year-old woman and a 69-year-old man in the 4700 block of South Cornell Avenue around 3 p.m., according to police.
According to CPD, the boy was arrested about two hours later in the 7000 block of South Parnell Avenue in Englewood.
He was charged with aggravated vehicular hijacking and aggravated possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
There was no additional information available at the time.
