A teen was charged with carjacking a man at gunpoint in the Englewood neighborhood on Tuesday afternoon.
According to police, the 16-year-old allegedly took a vehicle from a 45-year-old man at gunpoint in the 600 block of West 63rd Street around noon.
Officers spotted the boy in traffic and arrested him during a traffic stop, according to police.
A gun was also found in the vehicle.
The teen was charged with aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm, fleeing, and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. He was also charged with two misdemeanors: exceeding the speed limit by more than 34 miles per hour and driving without a license.
He’s due to appear in juvenile court on Wednesday.
