Teen fatally shot on Northeast Side; juvenile suspect detained: San Antonio

The Bexar County Sheriff’s deputies were called out around 11 a.m. to the area off Woodlake Parkway and Lakeview Dr.

The -year-old boy was fatally shot Friday morning on the Northeast Side and a teenage suspect is in custody, authorities said.

Upon arrival, deputies found the boy suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

Investigators said the teenage suspect was seen running from the scene and entering a residence about half a mile away. Deputies later detained a juvenile and recovered what they believe is the murder weapon.

Authorities have not released the identities of the victim or the suspect due to their ages. No motive for the shooting at this time.

Officials added that the suspect had discarded clothing and the firearm while running off.
